Somontano - Spain

Viñas del Vero was established in 1986 in the region of Somontano, in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains in the north of Spain. It is one of the most diverse regions in this country with a wide variety of soils, grapes, altitudes and microclimates, allowing us to produce a very diverse range of wines. Acquired by Gonzalez Byass in 2008, Viñas del Vero is the leading winery in Somontano, representing the 40% of the total sales of this DO in Spain, and 55% of the total exports. 

It comprehends 3 estates: Viñas del Vero, which owes its own name to the river Vero that flows along our vineyards; Secastilla, the highest point in DO Somontano where we recovered old vineyards of Garnacha, the traditional variety from the Secastilla Valley; and Blecua, our most iconic wine and result of a triple selection of vineyards, bunches and barrels.
